Sense of style

X7 Insight is a serious system: signatures, audit trail, Part 11, every action leaves a trace. This is the only section of the documentation devoted to beauty. There are no regulatory requirements for beauty yet — but we are prepared.

Theme in the header, ambient backdrop in the profile

There are two: dark and light. The switch lives in the header — a moon and a sun. No SOP has ever closed the argument about which one is better, so your choice is stored in your browser only; no colleagues are harmed. Themes never touch data, permissions or queries: it is pure presentation. Nobody will raise a query against your theme.

The Profile section hides an “Ambient backdrop” toggle. It ships Off — think of it as a hidden feature for those who actually finished the documentation.

Turn it on, and a live brand gradient starts glowing through the shell: a strip of light under the header, a soft oval behind the navigation rail. It never enters tables or input fields — data stays untouchable, even aesthetically. It moves at the edge of perception: the interface breathes, it does not blink.

With “reduce motion”, high contrast or no WebGL you get a calm static gradient in the same palette — style without motion is still style.

This is the only control in X7 Insight that requires no reason for change and writes nothing to the audit trail. Use it irresponsibly.
