The medical monitor reviews safety data and raises medical queries. The coder codes terms — adverse events, concomitant medication — against dictionaries. Both work from their own queues and do not edit site data.

Your day: frequent tasks

• Perform a medical reviewReview safety data in the medical review queue, mark it Reviewed or Reviewed with flag, and raise a medical query when needed.
• Code termsAssign a dictionary code to free text (adverse events, concomitant medications) in the coder's queue, recode after an edit, and empty the queue before the database lock.
• Manage queriesOpen a data query, accept or reject an answer, reopen or cancel a query, work the queue in bulk, assign an owner and export the register.
